In fact, 85% of the torque is already available below 3,500 rpm with a 17% increase in the curve at 5,500 rpm compared to the previous 1198 cm³ displacement model. This makes the Multistrada 1260 Enduro the motorcycle with the highest torque value in its category, an exceptional 4,000 rpm, i.e. the rpm rate used when riding.

To reach this new displacement level, the piston stroke was increased from 67.9 to 71.5 mm, while the bore remains 106 mm. To change this measurement new connecting rods, a new crankshaft and new cylinders were used. The DVT system was then recalibrated to maximise mid to low range engine torque delivery, leading to a maximum power of 158 hp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 13 kgm at 7,500 rpm.

The system works both when upshifting, for full throttle racing accelerations, and downshifting, with the reduction being more fluid thanks to the blipper that harmonises the engine\'s revolutions with the rotation speed of the primary shaft to avoid jamming, all supported by a clutch with anti-hop system. 

The Ducati Testrastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) engine, which varies both the timing of the camshaft that controls the intake valves, and the camshaft that controls the exhaust valves independently, optimises performance at high speeds to achieve maximum power, while improving smooth delivery and increasing torque at low and medium range speeds. This means you have an engine that changes its characteristics by continuously varying the rpm without the rider even noticing it, remaining within the Euro 4 approval requirements whilst paying great attention to fuel consumption. 

The lowering of the vehicle also meant that the centre of gravity is lower, allowing the rider greater confidence during low speed manoeuvres, especially with a passenger and panniers. However, the restriction of the wheel travel has not limited the bike\'s off-road performance thanks to the Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evo system, which, with its electronic management of the fork and shock absorber hydraulics, lets you tackle any type of terrain with maximum safety and control. The ergonomic triangle – the relative position of the seat, footpegs and handlebars – was also redesigned, reducing the handlebar height by 30 mm to improve riding comfort and to ensure a relaxed and natural position during long rides on the motorway. In addition to lowering the handlebars, the surfaces of the tank were modified for a better fit with the electric blocks during steering. 

The DSS Evo system acts continuously to guarantee the perfect balance of the vehicle in all road and load conditions, providing both rider and passenger with maximum comfort.

The DSS Evo system makes it possible to vary the bike\'s setup in a practical, intuitive and quick manner using the new HMI interface, to have the ideal suspension in any conditions. Simply select the riding mode – Touring, Sport, Urban or Enduro – and the load condition – single rider, rider with panniers, rider with passenger and rider with passenger and panniers. Moreover, it is also possible to act separately on the fork and on the shock absorber to make a fine adjustment of the front and rear suspension without the need for complicated settings. The system configuration possibilities are almost unlimited and there are up to 400 combinations of the parameters that can be electronically selected by the rider via the new interface.

The Multistrada 1260 Enduro has a front trellis with large diameter thinner tubes, two side subframes enclosed by a rear support element made of fibre loaded engineering plastic for maximum torsional rigidity. 

This tyre offers the best of two worlds: off-road racing and street riding. Designed for the most demanding riders, its strengths include durability, consistency of performance throughout its life cycle and top performance on wet surfaces. The Multistrada 1260 Enduro is equipped with tubeless spoked rims with aluminium channels, 40 crossed spokes and gravity cast hubs. The rims have been redesigned and lightened by about 2 kg in total compared to the previous model. The measurements are 3.00 x 19\" on the front and 4.50 x 17\" on the rear. Moreover, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro has also been developed and approved for Pirelli Scorpion™ Rally knobby tyres, better suited for off-road use. 

In static conditions, the rider can use the left-hand block on the handlebar to access a settings menu to activate and adjust various functions, including customised DTC, DWC and ABS Cornering. The adjustment of the semi-active electronic suspension is possible thanks to a dedicated menu. In both static and dynamic conditions, the rider can switch Riding Mode by choosing from Sport, Touring, Urban or Enduro and load the settings depending on the various riding configurations: single rider, rider with panniers, rider with passenger, and rider with passenger and panniers.

Moreover, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro comes standard with the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) that connects via Bluetooth to your mobile phone to control the music player and incoming calls and text messages.

Moreover, the Multistrada 1260 Enduro is equipped with the Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL) function that optimises the illumination of the road when turning based on the bike\'s tilt, and automatic deactivation of the turn signals depending on the lean angle. Thanks to the use of the IMU inertial platform, the turn signals turn off after finishing the turn or after having travelled a certain distance. 

In addition, the app makes available information on maintenance schedules, the user manual and the Ducati Store locator. Finally, the app lets you record your performance and travel itineraries so you can share your experiences on the new Multistrada 1260 Enduro. 

At this point you can press the key-on button to turn on the instrument panel and then start the engine. The electronic key consists of an electronic circuit and a mechanical \"flip\" key, needed to open the seat and the tank cap. There is also a steering lock that can be engaged thanks to an electric actuator.
